Meeting Cancellation Notice

 The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) meetings for Thursday April 11, 2019, has been cancelled

The MPO meetings will be rescheduled to Thursday, May 16, 2019.

The Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), is accepting applications for the urban capital assistance program provided through Section 5310 funds from the Federal Transit Administration. Entities interested in seeking capital assistance through this program must submit the application to the MPO. The MPO will rank the applications prior to forwarding a 5310 funding recommendation to the SDDOT for consideration. Applications can be found at http://www.rapidcityareampo.org beginning January 6, 2020, or emailed upon request. For questions on the application, call the Rapid City Area MPO office at 605-394-4120 or email kelly.brennan@rcgov.org. Applications are due to the Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Office, 300 Sixth Street, Rapid City, SD 57701, by 4 p.m. February 5, 2020.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the City of Rapid City, Pennington County, and the Rapid City Area MPO, will hold public open houses at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, December 10th at the Event Center at Black Hills Energy, (7001 Mount Rushmore Road) in Rapid City to inform area residents of the beginning of the US16 Corridor Study. The corridor being studied includes: • US16 from the junction with US16A (Keystone Wye) to Cathedral Drive in Rapid City. Emphasis at this meeting it to be on the intersections of US16 with US16 B / Catron Boulevard and Neck Yoke Road. The open house will be informal allowing for one on one discussion with the study team. A brief presentation will be given at approximately 5:35 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce preliminary intersection concepts to the public and gather input on those concepts. Area residents, business owners, and daily commuters are encouraged to attend and participate in the corridor study. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided. Written comments on the public meeting will be accepted until December 24, 2019.

Meade County in conjunction with the Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (RCAMPO) will hold a public information meeting / open house to receive public input on the Southern Meade County East-West Connector Corridor Study. The open house will be informal allowing for one on one discussion with the study team. The purpose of the meeting is to present the draft corridor study report. The Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (RCAMPO) will hold a public information meeting/open house to receive public input on the Metropolitan Transportation Plan and Bike/Pedestrian Plan Update. The open house will be information allowing for one on one discussion with the project team. The purpose of the meeting is to present an overview of the project and gather feedback from the public and stakeholders. This will be the first of three public meetings scheduled for the project.

The Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in cooperation with the City of Rapid City, the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will hold an open house style public meeting for the East Rapid City Corridor Analysis Study. The study is being done to complete analysis, alternatives development, and recommendations for potential infrastructure improvements along portions of East North Street, Omaha Street/Highway 44 and Cambell Street. The purpose of this public meeting is to receive input on the draft Report. The open house will be informal, with one-on-one discussion available with Rapid City Area MPO, City of Rapid City, SDDOT and consultant staff.

Meade County in conjunction with the Rapid City Metropolitan Planning Organization (RCMPO) will hold a public information meeting / open house to receive public input on the Southern Meade County East-West Connector Corridor Study. The open house will be informal allowing for one on one discussion with the study team. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the goals of the study to the public and start gathering feedback in how the community sees growth taking shape in Meade County and the northern part of Rapid City. This will be the fi of three public meetings scheduled for this study. A brief presentation will take place at 5:15 p.m. Meade County, MPO, and consultant staff will be available after the presentation to discuss the study and answer your questions. During this time, you will also have the opportunity to present written comments. Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization fully subscribes to the provisions of the American with Disabilities Act. The open house will be informal, with one-on-one discussion available with Rapid City Area MPO, City of Rapid City, SDDOT and consultant staff. Public agency and consultant staff will be available with displays to discuss corridor improvement alternatives, answer your questions, and take your ideas and opinions regarding the study corridors. During this time, attendees may also provide written comments. A short presentation will be given at approximately 5:15 p.m. Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this public meeting is being held in a physically accessible place. Any individuals with disabilities who will require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in the public meeting should submit a request to the City’s ADA Coordinator at 605-394-2336 or 1-800-877-1113 (Telecommunication Relay Services for the Deaf).
